With our certifications as a trading company according PEFC and FSC standards we document our support for responsible, environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management worldwide. With our chain of custody certifications we are entitled to trade FSC and PEFC certified wood products and provide the required proper documentation to our customers. Under PEFC standard we are certified for the area of manufacturing as well. In the very end, chain of custody certification by PEFC or FSC is intended to make responsible forestry identifyable for end-users and private consumers of an end-product containing wood. It encourages the use of our sustainable resource wood with its embedded plentiful environmental benefits.

Market developing

In lockstep with EU policy and directives the European countries are in the process of guiding their construction industries towards sustainability, environmental friendliness and energy-efficiency under the flag of “Green Building”. Governmental and non-governmental bodies have been developing rules for wood used in sustainable “green building” construction. In general PEFC as well as FSC are the accepted forest and chain of custody certification schemes.

The governmental timber procurement policies of the EU members resemble each other comparable to the UK’s guidance used here as an example: “The current UK Government timber procurement guidance note states that suppliers and contractors to Government should have available documentary evidence demonstrating the timber supplied is at a minimum from legal sources, and sustainable sources. This evidence should include full chain of custody from the forest source(s) to the end user.” The latest bi-annual review of forest certification schemes resulted in PEFC and FSC as approved schemes.
